A Day In the Life

MENTAL HEALTH DISABILITIES WITH COMPLEX TRAUMA

When youth recognize the far-reaching affects of experiencing and causing trauma, but also experience and understand themselves as whole people with a range of strengths and skills, they rise. We empathize and respond to the children with whom we work as whole individuals where maladaptive behavior represent simply one element of their past experience. Youth who have comorbid mental health diagnoses and have multiple levels of functioning will be considered by a rigorous and individualized admissions process. Typically, Elevated Youth Services serves male youth ages 12 to 17 years old.

Family Therapy, Visits, & Reunification

Elevated Youth Services emphasizes the importance of family therapy, visits, and reunification regardless of family location. This is of particular importance to both our residents and referral sources because we understand and promote the tremendous value of family/guardian support throughout the course of treatment. This aspect of our clinical services has led to dramatic differences in the treatment duration of our residents. Due to the clinical breakthroughs associated with addressing family dynamics and the residents’ protective factors, Elevated Youth Services’ treatment model and philosophy promote a length of stay that is lower than the national average.

Actuarial Tools For Measuring Success

Assessment and Evaluation services are enhanced by actuarial tools that measure protective factors and treatment needs. For Example, the Youth Outcome Questionnaire (YOQ-45) is employed to track improvements in functioning, and overall progress from one therapeutic session to next. At Elevated Youth Services the goal is to target and mitigate risk, enhance protective factors, and tailor phase assignment to individual need.

EDUCATION

On-site classroom is our Wesley Chapel home.

EYS Youth are registered as Home Education students so our mentors can teach them positive ways to handle educational frustrations with individualized attention to meet Florida’s State Education Standards. EYS utilizes Florida Virtual Schools online curriculum. “FLVS is one of the world’s leading online learning providers that delivers engaging and innovative experiences so students can enjoy a safe, reliable, and flexible education in a supportive environment”(flvs.net). Using online school in conjunction with behavioral and therapeutic approach is providing skills that will help them with their educational future!
